StackRadar is an independent, reader-supported directory that helps developers choose where to run their apps, databases, and services. We put app-hosting platforms, managed PaaS, Jamstack hosts, self-hosted options, and managed databases side by side — with real specs, honest pros and cons, and no vendor spin.

How we compare & rank

Every platform is described from its official documentation and pricing pages, plus hands-on knowledge of the developer-hosting space. Comparison fields (pricing model, free tier, regions, managed database, Docker support, git deploy, open source) are normalised so platforms can be read against each other. On an “alternatives” page, we lead with options in the same category as the platform you came from, then show the rest — relevance first, not payment.

How we make money

Some outbound links may be affiliate links: if you sign up through one, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you (full disclosure). This funds the site. It does not decide which platforms we include or how we order them — many platforms we recommend pay us nothing, and we cover them identically. Editorial independence is the whole point of a neutral directory.

Freshness

Hosting pricing and free tiers change often. We re-check the platforms we cover on a rolling basis; even so, always confirm current details on the vendor’s site before deciding.
