How PlanetScale pricing works
Usage-based and priced per cluster. You choose a compute SKU as either a single-node (non-HA) or 3-node high-availability cluster, then pay metered charges for storage, egress, and backups on top (Metal SKUs bundle a fixed storage allotment). There is no free tier, but single-node paid databases start at a low monthly minimum.
PlanetScale isn’t priced on a simple always-on-instance model (it’s a database, billed by storage/usage), so we don’t show a normalized monthly estimate. See the pricing model above and the provider’s page for details.
